About Solid Surfaces

Solid surfaces are one of the most popular and attractive options for kitchen and bath countertops. Available in a wide variety of types, colors and styles, this manufactured product is actually made of "acrylic resins", a substance that provides a desirable Class 1 fire rating. Solid surfaces also contain pigments and particles to add color and the look and feel all their own. Solid surfaces offer an enormous variety of color and texture choices. Among its main features, a solid surface can be cut to any shape, and it comes in a variety of finishes, from high gloss to dull matte. It’s important to point out that a solid surface is the only countertop material that allows a molded sink to be seamed directly to it, with no caulking or gaps.

Wilsonart®

Imagine a surface that's as durable as it is beautiful, a surface that allows you to create the look and design you've always wanted. That's why Wilsonart® created Gibraltar® and Earthstone® Solid Surfaces. These ½ -inch thick, 100-percent acrylic-based surface products are solid, nonporous and don’t require sealing. They're naturally resistant to heat, mold, mildew and most stains; even tough stains can be easily buffed away. Wilsonart® surfaces renewable and repairable—scratches can be erased in a minute’s time.
